SHORT CV
dr Belma Ramic-Brkic is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Computer Science and Information Systems Faculty at the University Sarajevo School of Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. degree from the International Digital Laboratory, Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG), University of Warwick, UK. Has an MSc (2009) and a BSc (2006) with honors from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In 2013, started the first Computer Graphics club where she is working on the development of educational computer games with student members. She has published papers at international conferences and journals and is interested in research topics such as serious games, visualization and visual perception, multi-modal perception, cultural digitalization, human-computer interaction, database systems, data mining techniques and applications, and ICT in education.
Belma is particularly interested in doing further research in the development of serious games with applications in early childhood development. Two such games initially developed within the Computer Graphics course and later improved and upgraded as an undergraduate thesis project won 2nd and 3rd place at the regional FIT Coding Challenge, held in Mostar, May 2016. The work on this project is published as book chapters in “The series Lecture Notes in Network and Systems” by Springer.

- 2020 The Student Award For the best professor in the Game Design and Development programme during the academic year 2019/2020.
- 2019 The Excellence in Research Award For the best research project during the academic year 2018/2019.
- 2016 The Faculty Excellence Award For the best performing department (CSIS) during the academic year 2015/2016.
- 2016 2nd place, FIT Coding Challenge Mentored a student who presented an educational game Kockica, developed for kids with autism.
- 2016 3rd place, FIT Coding Challenge Mentored a group of students who presented an educational game Veseli Park, developed for kids with autism.
- 2015 The EX SOLO AD SOLEM Award For contribution to the development and progress of SSST over a ten-year period.
