VECTOR is an integrated solution for identifying, classifying, and advising emergency response teams on explosive ordnance disposal (EOD). The VECTOR project will integrate 3D photogrammetry, augmented and virtual reality, image recognition, and a command and control platform to enable emergency teams to receive real-time support from off-site experts.
Virtual reality (VR) is a term that refers to the simulation of the artificial world. The user in virtual reality can explore and move in that created world, as well as interact with virtual things. VR is a fast-growing technology that is still relatively new. Its possibilities are huge in various fields such as games, but also education and research.
In this project, we use VR to recreate various explosive devices in a virtual environment where experts can analyze them without having to risk their lives in the field. The widespread use of this and similar applications are still not common, but projects like this are helping us set them as an industry standard and it is our great pleasure to be a part of creating this new world.
